We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Core IP Network Engineer to design, operate, improve and secure our service-provider IP network. You will play a critical role in delivering a scalable, resilient and high-performance network that supports our growing broadband, enterprise and wholesale services.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Design, operate, and optimize the service-provider IP network including core routers, aggregation, IP/MPLS, and internet gateways.
- Manage BGP, MPLS, routing protocols (OSPF/IS-IS), QoS, traffic engineering and route reflectors.
- Oversee IP transit, peering, content-network interconnects, cross-border routes and submarine-cable-backed capacity.
- Ensure network scalability, resiliency, security and high availability.
- Monitor network performance, troubleshoot complex issues and implement improvements.
- Collaborate with teams on GPON/XGS-PON expansion, HFC-to-fibre migration, enterprise services and wholesale traffic growth.
- Maintain documentation, capacity plans and network standards.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- At least 10 years of experience in service-provider IP engineering, with proven exposure to ISP, carrier, fixed broadband, wholesale, enterprise or regional backbone environments.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of BGP, MPLS, OSPF or IS-IS, L2VPN, L3VPN, QoS, traffic engineering, route reflectors, internet edge design and service-provider routing principles.
- Practical experience with IP transit, internet exchanges, private network interconnects and cross-border connectivity.
