Umma University graduation ceremony for June 18
A total of 874 students from various faculties and academic programmes will graduate after successfully completing their studies.

Umma University will hold its 9th Graduation Ceremony on June 18, 2026, at its Kajiado Campus, located along the Nairobi–Namanga Highway.
The event is expected to bring together graduates, parents, faculty members, alumni, government officials, and other stakeholders to celebrate academic achievement and the university's continued contribution to higher education in Kenya.
The theme of this year's graduation ceremony is “Excellence (Ehsan) in Education: Empowering Creative Minds for Transformative Leadership.” The theme reflects the university's commitment to nurturing competent, innovative, and ethical leaders capable of driving positive change in society.
A total of 874 students from various faculties and academic programmes will graduate after successfully completing their studies.
Currently, Umma University serves more than 2,000 students across its different schools, namely the School of Business and Technology, School of Nursing and Midwifery, School of Sharia and Islamic Studies, School of Education, and the School of Law and Shari’a.

Since its establishment, more than 17,000 students have passed through Umma University, a testament to its steady growth and expanding influence in Kenya's higher education sector. The institution has continued to invest in quality teaching, research, innovation, and community engagement, helping to shape graduates who are prepared to contribute meaningfully to national development.
Umma University holds the distinction of being the first Islamic chartered university in Kenya accredited by the Commission for University Education (CUE). The university is a project of Direct Aid, formerly known as the Africa Muslim Agency, and was established with the objective of providing quality, accessible, and values-based education to students from diverse backgrounds across the country.
In addition to its university programmes, the institution operates the Umma University TVET Institute, a private Technical and Vocational Education and Training college registered by the Technical and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TVETA). The institute is located in Makongeni, Thika, Kiambu County, along the Thika–Garissa Road.
The TVET institute offers a variety of diploma, certificate, and artisan courses in fields such as Electrical Engineering, Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Clothing and Textile Technology, Business Studies, and Liberal Studies. These programmes are designed to provide practical and industry-relevant skills that enhance employability and entrepreneurship opportunities among young people.
